Our Management Team

Mustafa Raja, Founder and President, brings over 18 years of experience in delivering Healthcare Information Systems, Application Development and Systems Integration. With a keen understanding of technology and how it can be leveraged to foster data exchange and improve legacy processes, Mr. Raja has served as Chief Architect and Technology Advisor to Chief Information Officers and IT leaders throughout his career. Mr. Raja brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to healthcare organizations having designed integrated solutions between various systems including EHR, HIS, Pharmacy, Lab, Respiratory, PAC's, Cardiology, Ambulatory and HIM applications.

Mr. Raja is a successful entrepreneur having started and funded his first business as a senior in high school. Early in his career he owned various franchises and started a successful IT company that provided Ambulatory software and turn-key technology services to physician offices. He has managed local and off shore technology teams to create resale software applications and e-commerce internet sites as well. His extensive knowledge of business operations, clinical processes, and technology affords Mr. Raja the rare ability to focus on practical solutions that balance needs versus constraints.

Shawn Boorom, Co-Founder and Vice President, oversees SynaptiCore’s practice management and consulting operations. Mr. Boorom brings over twelve years of healthcare operations and IT experience having worked for established healthcare organizations such as McKesson and Eclipsys. He has served in senior level positions where he oversaw the successful implementations of enterprise-wide clinical information systems in multi-hospital environments. He has conducted assessments of hospital organization’s information systems, current state workflows, operational readiness, deployment and outcomes.

Mr. Boorom has worked across a range of therapeutic categories having led projects in cardiovascular disease, neuroscience, oncology, and women's health. His primary focus has been within the provider segment where he has worked with acute care hospitals, academic medical centers, and large integrated healthcare delivery systems to identify, set, and meet clinical and business objectives.

John Serrano, Vice President, brings over 15 years of Information Systems experience with expertise in project management and delivery. Mr. Serrano has consulted for Fortune 1000 companies throughout the Unites States, Mexico, Canada and Europe managing various enterprise-wide system implementations in several industries including finance, energy, banking and now health care. His primary focus in the past seven years has been in the delivery of enterprise wide information systems in the health care industry responsible for planning and managing clinical transformation, requirements gathering, orders/results build, clinical documentation, interface development, testing, activation, and CPOE adoption activities throughout the entire project life cycle.

Mr. Serrano established several Project Management Offices helping to formalize program measurements, delivery methodologies and quality assurance processes. He has served as liaison and trusted advisor to CIO's, IT Committees and Hospital Boards in strategic planning, reorganization and streamlining of IT related initiatives and enterprise visions. He is certified as a Project Management Professional and has a Bachelor Science Degree in Management Information Systems.
